About the game

Nonogram hides a pixel picture under a grid, and the only hints are the numbers printed over each column and beside each row. A number counts how many squares in that line get filled in a row. Two or more numbers mean separate blocks, with at least one empty square between each block, so a line marked 3 1 wants three filled squares, a space, then one more.

You pick a difficulty and work through the grids, filling only what the numbers prove and leaving the rest blank until the rows and columns agree. Cross-checking a row against a column is where the picture starts to show. It moves slowly, which is what makes it good for a quiet break.

How to play

  • Tap or click a square to fill it, and tap again to clear it if the clues don't support it.
  • Read the numbers above each column and to the left of each row: each one is a run of filled squares in that line.
  • When a line has several numbers, leave at least one empty square between the runs.
  • Work only from the clues, checking rows against columns, and never guess.
