How Poki uses browser storage & cookies
Here you will find out which data Poki keeps on your device, which cookies or storage a game and its advertising partners might place inside the game frame, and the ways to remove or prevent them. Beginning a game counts as your agreement to the storage outlined here.
Storage used by Poki itself
Poki sets no tracking cookies that belong to us. The only browser storage we keep is the minimum needed for a game to function correctly, such as your progress, your high score or your preferences for that game. This data stays local to your device and never follows you across other websites.
Inside a game frame
Every game loads within its own frame, and the developers behind it may place cookies or storage there to keep your progress, remember your choices or display ads. The advertising partner working with those games may also set cookies within the frame to measure ads and to put a ceiling on how frequently the same ad is shown. Such cookies belong to the game and its partner rather than to Poki, so their own policies govern them.
Preventing or removing cookies
- Go to your browser settings and find the privacy or cookies area.
- Clear the cookies and site data stored for this site to begin anew.
- If you prefer that game frames not store them, block third-party cookies.
- To have everything erased when you close the window, use a private or incognito window.
When cookies are blocked, a game may be unable to remember your progress or preferences, and certain games might not load properly.
Consent and taking it back
Starting a game counts as your agreement to the storage that the game and its advertising partner use within the frame. Should you change your mind, delete the cookies and site data in your browser and avoid opening games that depend on them. For questions about the cookies of a particular game, contact the people who created that game.
